The Certificate of Fundamental Dermatoscopy is aimed at beginners in the field of dermatoscopy and skin cancer. You need an excellent foundation to confidently start using your dermatoscope. Our world-class lecturer Professor Cliff Rosendahl will be joined by Dr Andrew MacGill and Dr Chris Boberg who will ensure you have a confident feel for the basics of dermatoscopy. They will start by discussing the dermatoscopic diagnosis of the common benign lesions. They will then cover the use of ‘Chaos and Clues’ which is an algorithm co-founded by your lecturer Professor Cliff Rosendahl. ‘Chaos and Clues’ will provide you with a safe way to decide which lesions can be left and which require excising (this is achieved without needing to diagnose exactly what the lesion is). The algorithm is presented in a simple and easy to follow way with plenty of examples and repetition. Chris and Andrew will then expertly guide you through the fundamentals of diagnosing BCCs and SCCs. The day will end by discussing practical medical and surgical management options. On completion of this symposium, you will have a strong understanding of the fundamentals of dermatoscopy and how it will help you diagnose or manage the lesion in front of you.
All attendees will receive a complimentary MoleScope dermatoscope (valued at $445 NZD) plus a free subscription to DermEngine for 1 year.
You will leave the symposium with the skills and all the necessary tools to be up and running on your first day back at work. Without a doubt, you’ll be fascinated by the world of dermatoscopy and how it will improve your enjoyment and ability to manage skin cancers in your patients. And what a relief it will be to be able to say to your patient’s confidently that the black mole is fine!
